These projects will ask your children to reflect first on themselves and their strengths, and then reflect on their ability to help others. We will guide you through creating an identifying statement for the center of their flowers, and then thinking of words that describe their strengths for the petals. The project is completed with drawing and cutting the stem and leaves.
For the “Helpful Hands Project”, participants trace their hand and cut it out. Participants then create a heading and drawing and coloring the world. Two or more ideas for how they can make the world a better place are then written on the hands, which are then cut out. The various pieces are layered together and glued onto a sheet of colored paper.
At the end of both projects, children will be guided through a meditation focused on how special they are and how many gifts they are able to give and have received.
Be sure to take a photo of your finished project and share it with us using #FindTheBeauty or enter it in our Find the Beauty contest on Facebook by emailing it to contactus@palsforhealing.org. Learn more about the contest here.
